Thriller protagnoist deconstruction
This is a presentation we made on the protagonists from thriller films, showing their features and the commonalities between them. We decided to focus on female thriller protagonists as the plan to make our lead role female. This task has helped us figure out certain conventions of such characters and we plan to translate some of these qualities onto our character so as make them stay in line with the thriller genre, and to make our piece seem more believable as a thriller film.
Intro to main task
For our main task we are to plan, film and edit a 2 minute long title sequence for a thriller film. We need to plan what our film is going to be about, how we are going to film it, who will be in it and how we will challenge or conform to the conventions of the thriller genre. A title sequence is the short piece of material at the beginning of a film that takes place before the plot of the film has been established and usually helps to set the tone of the film, and possibly reveals information about the story. Critically, a title sequence must also contain the names of the actors, directors and other production personnel, as the main purpose of a title sequence is to give credits to those involved in the process of making the film.
